Christmas Concert - Golden Collection of Czech Christmas music

Select group of sopranos and altos of the Czech Boys Choir performed on Tuesday, December 21, together with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Hradec Kralove at the occasion of a special concert of the 2010/2011 season. The concert was subtitled “The Golden Fund of Czech Christmas music“.
Besides the Czech Boys Choir there was a Choral Union of the East Bohemian Region participating under the direction of conductor Roman Valek.

Czech Boys Choir welcomed Australian guests in Hradec Kralove

The Czech Boys Choir welcomed in his home town of Hradec Kralove Australian Children's Choir Brisbane Birralee Voices with the conductors Julie Christiansen and Paul Holley. The joint concert held in the City Music Hall, Hradec Kralove. At the concert perfomed also a composer Paul Jarman, who is is celebrating through his music a deeper understanding of Australian culture and history.

Christmas concert in Trebechovice

St. Ondrej Church in Trebechovice pod Orebem became the place of the next Christmas concert of the Czech Boys Choir. Concert choir with conductor Jakub Martinec and pianist Martin Fisl performed for the audience traditional Christmas concert program.

A letter from the director of the Poznań Festival

The Czech Boys Choir received a letter from Jacek Sykulski, Director of the 9th International Festival of Boys Choirs in Poznań, where the Choir performed in November this year. Below you can read this letter and see the scanned image.
Dear Mr. Martinec,
on behalf of Poznań Boys' Choir, I would like to thank you for honoring us with the presence of the Czech Boys Choir, during the 9th International Festival of Boys Choirs in Poznań.
The concerts of your choir in Poznań, Pniewy, Cerekwica and Konin were truly outstanding and were greatly appreciated by the Polish audience. We were extremely impressed with your performances, the professionalism of the children, and the quality of your singing. You enraptured us with an unusual ability to master musical intricacies, differences of style and a real sense of varied tone color.

Czech Boys Choir in the Minorite Convention in Brno

Christmas concerts of the Czech Boys Choir continued on Thursday, December 9 in Brno, this time in the Church of St. Johns, which is a part of the Minorite Convention. Selected boys of the concert choir prepared for the audience a strictly religious repertoire with the theme of Advent.

Czech Boys Choir celebrated its premiere in Hradec Kralove

Sunday afternoon concert in the Hradec Kralove Philharmonic Orchestra Hall was the premiere concert of the Czech Boys Choir in Hradec Kralove. The Choir has prepared for the audience selection of holiday favourites and songs written by famous authors. Concert choir, men's choir and the preparation choir with conductors Jakub Martinec, Jennifer Beynon Martinec and Simona Hlavata performed with the pianist Martin Fisl and harpist Hana Mullerova-Jouzova.

The Czech Boys Choir performed in Policka

The Czecb Boys Choir performed on Saturday, December 4th, in the fully occupied Church of St. Jakub in Policka, the Czech Republic. Singers were again rewarded with a standing ovation. The concert was held at the occasion of the Bohuslav Martinu's Year.

Christmas concert in Studenka

At today's concert in Studenka the Czech Boys Choir from Hradec Kralove had a standing ovation. As a soloist, in addition to Mikulas Chvojka, there was introduced for the first time one of the youngest singers, Tomas Jarkovsky.

Christmas Caroling

Director of Pueri Auri, o.p.s., Mr. Vladimir Kalina, Artistic Director of the Czech Boys Choir Jakub Martinec with twelve singers, visited today several important personalities of Hradec Králové, among other prof. Jiri Skopal, founder of the tradition of boys choir singing in Hradec Kralove, Václav Derner, Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra, or Karel Tejkl, Director Hradecky Denik newspaper. The singers wished them a Merry Christmas and gave them as a gift a gingerbread with the choir's logo.

Advent Concert of the Czech Television
November 30th, 2010
The first Advent Concert of the Czech Television was broadcast live from the Theresian Hall of the Brevnov Monastery in Prague. The Czech Boys Choir with conductor Jakub Martinec and pianist Martin Fisl ended the concert with two songs - Personent Hodiah from Piae Cantiones and Hallelujah from Haendel's Messiah.
The Czech Boys Choir excelled in Poland

Selected forty singers from the Czech Boys Choir returned on Sunday from a successful participation at the 9th International Festival of Boys Choirs, which held in Poznan, Poland. "It's been a real pleasure to host you in Poznan, and to listen to the amaizing performances of The Ensemble," said director of the Festival Jacek Sykulski.

The Czech Boys Choir is going to Poland
November 13th, 2010
The Czech Boys Choir was invited to be a part of the 9th International Festival of Boys Choirs, which is a continuation of festivals initiated in the sixties by Jerzy Kurczewski in Poznań. During the Festival, boys choirs meet not only on musical stages, but also on a football field, where they will fight for the title of European Football Champion of Boys Choirs. The championship is an official event accompanying Poznań’s preparations for Euro 2012.
